ZO Skin Health routine: step-by-step product order
Practical, product-focused guidance built with care.
A ZO Skin Health routine works best when products are introduced in a logical order and active steps are matched to your skin. Below we explain the basic structure and when products should or should not be combined.

Step 1: Cleanse
Choose a cleanser that suits your skin type. Gentle Cleanser is a mild everyday option. Hydrating Cleanser is often better suited to drier skin, while Exfoliating Cleanser is aimed more at oily or blemish-prone skin.
Step 2: Exfoliate and tone
ZO calls the basic phase Getting Skin Ready: cleanse, exfoliate and tone. Exfoliating Polish, Complexion Renewal Pads and Oil Control Pads serve different purposes. You do not automatically need all of them at once.
Step 3: Treat and correct
Choose targeted products according to your skin goal. Daily Power Defense can be used as daily support, Growth Factor Serum when visible signs of ageing are a priority, and Brightalive for an uneven-looking complexion.
Step 4: Add retinol only when appropriate
Retinol is not a compulsory step for every skin. The right strength depends on your goal, previous experience and tolerance. Read our separate guide to ZO Skin Health retinol.
Step 5: Hydrate and calm
When skin feels dry, sensitive or stressed by an active routine, extra hydration or soothing support can be useful. Reduce active steps if redness, burning or flaking persists.
Step 6: Protect
Finish every morning with broad-spectrum sun protection. This is especially important when you use retinol, acids or other intensive products.

If you are unsure about the right combination or product order, ask for personal advice rather than starting several intensive products at the same time.
