The high concentration of retinol makes this a highly effective product. Initial dryness, irritation and peeling are normal. These symptoms generally develop 3-7 days after initial application and indicate that skin cells are waking up and damaged skin is being shed. If you are new to retinol, we recommend starting slowly. Apply 2-3 pumps twice a week 30 minutes before bed and after cleansing. Increase frequency as skin becomes more tolerant.

To reduce the reaction:
- Use fewer pumps of product
- Reduce the frequency of application
- Use a recommended hydrating and soothing ZO® product
- As the skin becomes stronger and more tolerant, fewer of the expected reactions will occur
- In areas where the skin is thinner, more reactions can be expected (around the eyes, mouth, neck, chest)
- Applying less product will lead to lower skin reactions, but also to slower recovery
- It takes 2-6 weeks to see changes and 5 months of daily use for maximum results
- Remember: Results and comfort don't always go hand in hand
